YOUR ROLE

We are looking to recruit an Administrative Assistant to join our team in Bourlon Barracks, Catterick Garrison.

**This is a full time and permanent role working 30 hours/week, Monday to Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To conduct the duties of the Post Room Orderly. Receipt and distribute incoming mail, prioritise and despatch outgoing mail. Responsible for all recorded signature item books and registers. SC (SECRET) Vetting is required and will be provided.  
  • Be the focal point for the demanding of all stationary for the Battalion via the Contract, Purchasing and Financing system, receipt onto account and distribute as requested, including paper and printer toner/cartridges. 
  • Assist the Adjutant with the maintenance and updating of the PAPMIS (Injured soldier management system).
  • Deal with telephone enquiries and distribution of outgoing and incoming faxes as necessary. 
  • Utilise the MOD Online Travel Booking system for flights, rail, hotel, and ferries. 
  • Assist personnel with breakdown of course costs and entitlement of allowances on JPA. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience of working in an Administration or Data Entry role, with good organisational and system skills. 
  • Must possess NVQ level 2, ECDL or equivalent
  • Excellent numeracy skills; strong written and verbal skills.
  • IT (MS Word/Excel).
  • Ability and full confidence in producing reports
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask
  • You have a positive attitude and are enthusiastic
