Job description:

Role Summary

The Remote Services Architect is responsible for defining and governing the end to end system and solution architecture for Remote Services platforms, spanning IoT devices, connectivity, firmware management (FOTA), cloud platforms (AWS & Azure), and enterprise integrations.
This role partners closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to design secure, scalable, and resilient architectures that enable remote diagnostics, monitoring, and over the air updates for connected products. The architect will drive current state assessments, future state blueprints, and technology decisions aligned with enterprise digital strategy and standards.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills
• Strong expertise in System Architecture and Solution Architecture
• Hands on experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms
• Strong knowledge of IoT architectures, device lifecycle, and telemetry platforms
• Experience with FOTA / OTA firmware management for connected devices
• Solid understanding of microservices, APIs, event streaming, and distributed systems
• Experience designing secure, scalable, highly available platforms

Architecture & Design
• Ability to create architecture diagrams, blueprints, and reference architectures
• Experience evaluating technologies and making architecture trade off decisions
• Strong understanding of non functional requirements (performance, reliability, security, scalability)

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 10+ years of overall experience in software / platform engineering
• 5+ years in an architecture role (System, Solution, or Platform Architect)
• Cloud certifications (AWS and/or Azure) preferred
