JOB DESCRIPTION: Wellness Supervisor

Position: Wellness Supervisor

Department: Front Office

Reports to: Resort Manager

Objective:

Assist our guest in finding new ways to inspire healthier habits by customizing menus to accommodate their needs and designing exercise, activities, and spa services to enhance their wellness routine. The position will work closely with our guest to educate them on wellness and helping individuals realize their personal best. Responsible for developing a relationship with guest and assisting them through the process of actively working towards better health by providing support, encouragement, and education. Prepare week long programs for specific guest who sign up and join them at designated activities, tailor make their experience. Lead the wellness program, to become recognized as the Caribbean’s leading wellness resort.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in health promotion, health education, fitness, nutrition, other health related field.

Knowledge of specific disease and lifestyle related topics such as smoking cessation, weight management, nutrition, pre-postnatal care, stress reduction and chronic conditions and certification from an accredited professional wellness coach training program preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Always wear appropriate uniform as prescribed by company policy and maintain personal cleanliness as well as monitoring the appearance of staff.

· Adhere to time clock procedures regarding punching in/out and ensure staff does the same.

· Continually train and monitor compliance of all existing and new policies and procedures as well as updating when necessary.

· Have a full understanding of BUCUTI BEACH RESORT marketing programs and pricing guideline.

· Maintain open communication between Concierge, Food & Beverage and the other departments within the hotel.

· Contact guest prior to arrival to offer assistance with special diet and or exercise programs.

· Customize special menus to accommodate dietary needs and request and forwards the information to the appropriated departments.

· Coordinate special menus for detoxification, slimming, good carbs and other special request from guest.

· Oversee preparation of special menus.

· Oversee fitness activities.

· Research, recommend and join in on new activities with the guest.

· Continually look for new and innovative ways to enhance the guest experience.

· Set up itineraries for guest focused on health and wellness.

· Responsible for contacting guests that are interested in a wellness program and provides necessary wellness coaching to reduce or eliminate high-risk behaviors.

· Encourages adoption of habits that are conducive to a higher quality of life.

· Responsible for supporting operational aspects of the resort to meet the guest requirements and satisfaction.

· Develop and conduct onsite health-related wellness seminars and training courses for interested guest and employees.

· Develop and distribute health education materials to identified employees.

· Develop customized care plan for guest and employee participants including goals and plan of action.

· Coordinate Care with other health-related vendors for optimal care.

· Greet Guests upon arrival and introduce them to the management team.

· Check Ins/Outs are handled in a courteous, professional and timely manner.

· Advise guests of our environmental programs and invite them to participate.

· Maintain accurate records on guest.

· Use guest name whenever possible.

· Expedite handling of all incoming and outgoing calls in a courteous and efficient manner.

· Solicit guest comments, complaints and suggestions and bring to the attention of management and if possible take the necessary steps to satisfy guest.

· Greet and assist guest at all times even when not in you work area.

· Entertain upon request of management, guests, Travel agents or VIP’s during various functions, activities and tours

· Update newsletters and other guest information in various languages

· Responsible for updating all guest profiles with any incidents from the log, amenities, etc.

· Assist guests with information and reservations for local activities, airlines, restaurants, etc.

· Have full knowledge of all emergency procedures and act appropriately should an emergency arise.

· Assist with regular inventories and maintain necessary supplies for all areas of responsibility.

· Maintain neat and tidy working areas.

· Report any suspicious or dangerous activity, movement or condition.

· Report maintenance deficiencies.

· Escort guest to requested location or un-equivocally show them where to go.

· Promote at all times the name and reputation of the hotel.

· Maintain Logbook and Alice follow up on items needing attention.

· Comply with all rules and regulations established as a result of Green Globe, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, Travelife, CarbonNeutral and LEED policies.

· Attend scheduled meetings and training and actively participate.

· Participate in community functions representing hotel as requested (Beach Clean Up)

· Any other duties as requested by management.
